The Brief
The Christie required a new trust-wide film to showcase its status as one of Europe’s leading cancer centres, capturing the vast range of services and treatments it offers. The challenge was to do so in under 3 minutes, while highlighting what makes the hospital unique.
Our Approach
With patient care at the centre of The Christie’s mission, we adopted the same approach for the film. We worked closely with the communications team to identify key services and patient case studies. We then creatively linked these elements, such as showcasing pioneering surgery through a patient whose life was saved, while finding innovative ways to connect more abstract concepts, like renewable energy, to patient outcomes. The result was a script that told a compelling story, keeping patients at the heart of the narrative.
The Result
We filmed over 40 staff and patients across various locations, including wards, labs, and public settings, using dynamic, moving camera shots to create a sense of journey. The film was well-received within the trust and beyond, with subtitles added in four languages and shorter versions created for social media. The final result captured the essence of The Christie’s work in a powerful, concise way.
