Our client Bullwall wanted a film that truly highlighted the impact that its new antivirus technology could have. The product, Ransomcare, works behind the scenes of IT systems to identify and shut down attacks as they happen. It’s revolutionary technology, but incredibly difficult to see at work as it responds so quickly. Our job was to visually demonstrate the impact it could have in protecting businesses.
We came up with the idea to somehow slow down time and use a presenter to unpick the stages of Ransomcare’s response to an attack, so that viewers could clearly understand how it worked. We knew green screen technology could help and ran a few tests in our studio to see how we could use it to separate the actions of our presenter from the events around them. By doing this, we could freeze the real time action and provide an explanation of each stage. This “behind the scenes” approach would ensure we could take viewers through the technology step by step. We worked closely with the client to develop a technically accurate script which could be clearly illustrated on screen.
We worked with our client to find the best location for the shoot which needed to be set in the IT Hub of a real office. We cast extras to play the roles of office workers and used our in house presenter Kate Simms, so we had complete control of the environment. We filmed over two days, sometimes filming scenes twice, both with and without green screen to allow us to create the effect we needed to apparently control time. In post we superimposed our presenter into the scenes and altered their timing so she could unpick the process. The result was a really clear explanation of the process which highlighted the true Ransomcare offer.
Our client was delighted with the film and is now using it widely to promote the Ransomcare offer to clients. Bullwall told us
“Dependable Productions has also been an incredible resource, offering input and recommendations on the overall creative development. You walked us through the entire project and managed to bring it to life even before the “camera” was turned on and the way you executed those complex graphics was truly remarkable. The final video exceeded all our expectations”
