Simon’s story
A film written and produced by Dependable Productions featuring the moving story of a man affected by Asbestos has won a national safety award.
“Simon’s Story” charts the progress of the terminal disease Mesothelioma in former electrician Simon Clark who was exposed to Asbestos early in his career. The film is built around moving interviews with both Simon and his wife Zana and includes information on the risks posed by asbestos as well as guidance on how to work safely around it.
It was commissioned by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), with the backing of the East Anglian Construction Safety Group, to raise awareness of the dangers ofAsbestos and educate the wider industry.

It has now been honoured with an SGUK Alan Butler award (Silver) which recognizes the achievements of the many groups and hard working people who give up their time free of charge to make a difference to health and safety in companies in their area.
Dependable Productions is delighted that the film has been recognised in this way. It was an honour to meet Simon and hear his story and we hope the film will make a difference to people working in the Industry.
